Whether it’s your first step in your Snowsports Instructing career, or you want to share your passion with others, a Level 1 course at The Snow Centre is a great place to start.

Who can take the qualification?

Available for anyone of 16 years and above who are experienced parallel skiers or advanced level snowboarders.

If you’re not sure if you’re ready, we recommend that you book one of our Skills Development Sessions and speak to your instructor.

What does the course include?

  • £605 bookable through BASI, and includes registration with BASI
  • 5 day course including Lift Pass with assessment at the end
  • 35 hours shadowing – can be completed at no cost at The Snow Centre

What's not included?

  • Accommodation, food, refreshments
  • First Aid Qualification – booked & paid separately
  • Safeguarding Children Module – booked & paid separately
  • DNS check – booked & paid separately

  • Adaptive Ski Level 1 dates available:
    • 3rd July 2017 – 7th July 2017
    • 2nd October 2017 – 6th October 2017
  • Telemark Level 1 dates available:
    • 18th September 2017 – 22nd September 2017

What happens after the course?

  • Following successful completion of above, you will be qualified to be an instructor at Indoor Snow Slopes and Dry Slopes.
  • Qualification is valid for 3 years before refresher qualification is required. Approximate cost £80. Can be booked through BASI to take place at The Snow Centre.
  • If you wish to progress your qualifications with BASI the next logical step is to take a BASI Level 2 in your chosen discipline. Your trainer will be able to provide more information.

Level 3
I can do basic snowplough turns

We offer a large range of Adult Skiing Lessons, Junior Skiing Lessons and Family Skiing Lessons so there is something for everyone. You can take your pick, from the ‘we’re all in it together’ Group Lessons to the personal one-on-one style of our Private Lessons.
