Snowboard Lessons for 11-16 Year Olds.

Aim to arrive 45 minutes to an hour before the start time of your lesson to allow ample time for preparation. Upon arrival, please have your booking reference available (you can find this on your booking confirmation email). You can collect your tickets from the Guest Services desk or the self-service ticket machines situated near reception. If your booking confirmation has a QR code, you can scan it at the self-service machines to check in.

Our facilities include changing cubicles, accessible changing facilities, and lockers available to store your belongings, which accept a £1 coin or a locker token. These are returnable. 

 Yes, you can start snowboarding at 16; in fact, it's a perfect time to get into this exhilarating sport. Why not get you and some friends involved in learning to snowboard and starting your obsession with boarding down our real snow slope? Our snowboard lessons are perfect for bonding with friends or making new ones.  

All our instructors have undertaken a DBS check and completed a child protection module, as well as all the relevant instructor licence requirements.

If your child has any specific learning needs, please inform the instructor at the start of the lesson so they can make any necessary adjustments. For any significant needs your child may have, we recommend contacting Disability Snowsports UK initially, as they offer subsidised lessons to help your child get started before participating in The Snow Centre's group lessons.

If the child meets the minimum requirements to snowboard independently without an instructor (Lesson Stage 5), they can start boarding on a Main Slope lift pass from 10 years old, provided they meet our Main Slope minimum standards:

• Be able to control and link turns.
• Be able to control speed and direction.
• Be able to stop safely.
• Be comfortable with variable piste conditions.
• Be competent in using a drag lift

During junior lessons, a parent/guardian is required to remain on-site and be in sight of the lesson (where reasonably possible) at all times. This is in case the instructor needs to signal a parent/guardian to come down to attend to their child. Parents/guardians are not allowed to be on the snow with their child, but should be up in the Lodge viewing gallery or adjoining balcony.

Warm clothing is essential for your Snowboard lessons, especially in cold conditions. Wrapping up warm will allow you to enjoy your lesson fully. Wear warm, waterproof clothing and warm socks. All of which can be hired or purchased if you don’t have your own. The rest of your equipment, your Ski's, boots and helmet, all of which are compulsory, are included in your lesson fee. Gloves are compulsory and can be purchased either online when booking, or at the centre, or bring your own.
