The role of an instructor at The Snow Centre Manchester is to ensure that guests get the most out of their time on our slopes, developing new skills or honing their techniques.
We believe snowboarding should be fun, and we want to ensure that our guests, whether they’re hopping on a board for the first time or learning advanced skills, have a great time. Therefore, we make fun the core of our lessons.
If you’re looking to get some extra practice before your snowboard instructor course, book one of our private snowboard lessons, where our coaches will be happy to assess your level and give you any pointers you may need before you start the course. Treat the lesson as an opportunity to hone your skills or to observe how our expert instructors teach a lesson.

To become a snowboarding instructor at The Snow Centre Manchester, you need to obtain a Level 1 qualification from an organisation such as the BASI, IASI, or SSE. To teach on the mountains in resorts, you will likely need to have a Level 2 qualification.

A Level 1 qualification consists of up to five days of training and assessment programme, a first aid qualification, and 35 hours of snowsport school experience with plenty of online modules to help you learn and prepare. To achieve a Level 2 qualification, you will build on all you learn in Level 1 and apply additional training, another assessment, and a further 35 hours of snowsport school experience.
