Snowboard Lessons.

If you meet our Main Slope minimum standards, you can snowboard without lessons here at The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead. Although if you haven’t been on your board in a while, we strongly recommend taking a refresher lesson before doing so. We have specific standards for the use of the Main Slope, requiring users to be able to control their speed and direction, make safe turns and stops, and use the button lift. If you cannot meet the criteria, you will not be able to snowboard, as you will be a risk to yourself and others around you.

To reach a good standard of snowboarding, complete beginners will require around six lessons. The number of lessons needed to feel comfortable will depend on your learning speed and the type of snowboarding lessons you are undertaking.

An adult snowboarding lesson at The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead lasts two hours, while our kids' snowboard lessons are one hour or one and a half hours. We also offer day snowboarding lessons that are exclusive to adults and will see you undertake five hours of instruction.

At The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead, beginners are introduced to their equipment and taught the basics of stance and balance. Next, moving on the snow and controlled stopping are taught, along with the art of falling safely. Most importantly, beginner lessons help first-time snowboarders build confidence.

Choosing between private and group snowboard lessons often comes down to what you are looking for from your lesson. Private lessons are great for the one-to-one attention you get from your instructor, leading to more personalised feedback and instruction. Group lessons, however, allow you to learn from other snowboarders and share the fun of the experience together.
