Where we are.
Located on St Albans Hill, our iconic indoor snow centre is the closest real-snow centre to London. The Snow Centre Hemel has been operating since 2009 and offers skiing and snowboarding all year round.

By Car
We are just five minutes from the M1 (Junction 8) and 10 minutes from the M25 (Junction 20). SatNav our postcode at HP3 9NH. We have 280 free car parking spaces. Please respect our neighbours and only use designated parking spaces in The Snow Centre’s car park.
By train/taxi.
There are regular trains from London Euston to Hemel Hempstead Train Station with London Northwestern Railway – a journey time of under 30 minutes and trains departing London every 20 minutes. It's then about a 5-minute taxi ride from the taxi rank at the station or an Uber. The closest train station is Apsley. You can walk to The Snow Centre in 15 minutes. There is no taxi rank at Apsley, but you can call a taxi on 01442 247247 or grab an Uber.
On foot or by bike.
The Snow Centre Hemel is easily accessible on foot or by cycle from the surrounding residential areas, Hemel Hempstead town centre, Apsley train station and nearby leisure park, Jarman Park.

There is so much to see and do at The Snow Centre Hemel. In addition to our ski lessons, snowboard lessons, lift passes, Snow Park, and after school activities, we can host a wide range of events tailored to your needs, from fun snow activities to unforgettable birthday parties. We also offer a place to sit down, relax, and enjoy fresh food with an unbeatable view of our real snow slopes at The Lodge Bar and Kitchen. We are also home to several other businesses in and around The Snow Centre Hemel.
Real Snow Slopes
Our Hemel slope uses real snow, delivering a skiing or snowboarding experience as close to a real mountain piste as possible.
Dedicated Learning Zones
We have a dedicated beginner slope, the UK's biggest dedicated real snow lesson area, designed for instructors to teach their classes in a controlled environment before transitioning to the Main Slope.
Family Snow Play & Ice Activities
There are endless amounts of snow fun to be enjoyed at The Snow Centre Hemel, with the Downhill Donut slide offering exhilarating experiences and family lessons.
Corporate & Group Events Spaces
The Lodge Bar & Kitchen provides the perfect place to relax after a long day on the slopes. Partake in some après-ski in our Alpine chalet-inspired venue.
GUIDE FOR YOUR FIRST VISIT.
If you’re heading out on our real snow slope at The Snow Centre Hemel for the first time, be sure to wrap up warm. No matter how hot it is outside, the temperature inside our slopes is always sub-zero. Bring along your confirmation email or digital wallet ticket, as well as any equipment you already own. If you don’t have your own equipment, our clothing and equipment options can provide it for you. Skis or snowboards, boots, and helmets are all included with your lesson or lift pass. You can hire waterproof jackets or trousers and purchase socks and gloves.
Please arrive 30 minutes before your session to allow time for parking, check-in, equipment collection and changing.
