The Best Time to Ski in Japan
Japan’s ski season runs from late November to May, with the perfect period stretching from December to March. Early in the season, December is good for those wanting a quieter trip, while the best powder-like snow doesn’t kick in until January. These peak conditions – cold, deep, consistent snow – last throughout February, with sunnier days becoming more common as the year progresses. By March, spring skiing opportunities arise, with sunny days and snowpack making for gorgeous piste skiing.
